Healing Trauma through Nervous System Regulation

Join Joanne for an evening of Somatic Yoga and an introduction to nervous system regulation.   Our weekend will start with a brief explanation how our bodies behave during nervous system deregulation. At any given time many of us have a deregulated nervous system, which can cause the systems and the rhythms of the bodies to be out of balance. This session will provide you with simple, accessible ways to ground and settle your nervous system through gentle movement, breath work and awareness.

Meeting our Shadow through Personal Investigation and Somatic Yoga


True healing occurs when we begin to investigate those things about ourselves, often just out of view, that represent what ails us. Our shadows are exactly what we are unable to see in ourselves and are often the result of life experiences that we don’t even necessarily realize are limiting our quality of life. Exploring our shadows can lead to greater authenticity, clarity, creativity, energy, and personal awakening.

Join Joanne for an afternoon of self-exploration through shadow work, somatic yoga, and tension releasing. The session will begin with a lecture on why shadow work is important bring the body back into balance and will conclude with somatic yoga and gentle movement followed by neurogenic tremoring to release any energy that arises through our shadow investigation. The practice will end with a long svasana guided by singing bowls and essential oil.


Saturday, September 15th, 3-5pm

Releasing the Shadow and Accessing the Ally within

Building on the morning, we will explore practices that allow us to access our inner allies that we can use to work with our shadows.  Joanne will guide us through a visualization that allows us to access our subconscious mind and our limiting beliefs that hold us back as well as the positive qualities of our allies that support us.  Through self-discovery we will learn that our inner allies are always with us.

The ally visualization will be followed with restorative yoga.



Sunday September 16th, 9-11:30am

Bringing it all together: Enhance Your Well-Being


On our final day together, Joanne brings all of the workshops together for a playful gentle, somatic movement, meditation, and expressive art. Leave the session with practical take-aways that you can bring into your home or individual practice.
